Water Main Break

Per the City of Columbia Water Department a water main break is affecting Riverview Terrace and a 'large' area of Richland County.  No estimated time was given for normal restoration.  Additionally local news reports a project from the Columbia Water Department for the Marion Street district, but specifically mentions Smith Branch which borders our neighborhood.

Crane Creek Water Treatment project at Smith Branch

Vibra-Tech Corporation in York county notified each RITCO household about its management of the wet weather equalization storage and pump station project located near our subdivision. Per Vibra-Tech's subcontractor Palmetto Rock Services, the blast around 1:05 pm Friday 12/13/24 was the final anticipated blast near Riverview Terrace. Other worksite activity will continue the following week and this wastewater project should continue elsewhere into 2026; but sounds near Smith Branch should return to normal as early as 12/20/2024.  Here are links to an archived report (courtesy WLTX TV) and published additional  project information.
